Owner of Wishful Thinking Farm

URGENT NEWS: Ben was diagnosed with a terminal illness in April 2009. He has had radiation, chemotherapy, and two surgeries to extend his life. There is no cure and his condition will deteriorate. He has placed his entire herd for sale at a significant cost to him.

The alpacas are all ARI registered and healthy. You are welcome to come inspect the alpacas and obtain medical certificates.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your herd, enter the alpaca breeding business, or get together with your friends to purchase quality alpacas at bargain prices.

Call me (Rose Page) at (240) 577-1751 to set-up an appointment.

Welcome to our farm and our alpaca lifestyle. We are glad you've decided to visit our alpaca web page and hope to see in person soon.

Alpacas are very curious about children and seem to like them very much.

In the attached pages you will see a brief description of how we came to be alpaca breeders and an overview of the responsibilities and pleasures of raising alpacas. I have also included many web links that you can explore for more information. The alpaca industry has developed sites that thoroughly explain the numerous tax advantages, investment opportunities, the history of alpacas, the benefits of alpaca wool over sheep wool, and "how to" aspects the alpaca business.

At Dameron Alpacas, we are small enough to offer personalized attention, yet large enough to provide full service in sales, breeding, education, and post sales support.

We have 28 Huacaya Alpacas and are expecting several new cria (babies) this year! We have Peruvian, Bolivian, and Chilean bloodlines. We have the spectrum of colors including white, shades of beige, fawn, brown, silver grey, rose grey, and true black. We all welcome the opportunity to share our enjoyment of owning and caring for these wonderful animals.

Located in Dameron, Maryland, about 60 miles south of Washington, DC and 40 miles from Virginia, Dameron Alpacas is nestled in the woods and hidden from view. Dameron is a very small town just south of Lexington Park in St Mary's County, Southern Maryland. We have a gas station, laundry mat, John Deere dealer, and a post office. Don't blink or you will miss it.

We are very close to the Cheasapeake Bay and the Potomac River. Historic St Mary's City and Point Lookout State Park are just a few miles away.

Call to arrange a farm visit and let us share with you the advantages of the alpaca life-style and a business you can snuggle up with.
